Hartley Park Mini-Master Plan Improvements in Progress

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is making additional progress in the implementation of the City Council approved Hartley Park Mini-Master Plan. Starting this week, work will begin on replacing the boardwalks along Old Hartley Road with a new boardwalk in the wet meadow area as stated in Mini-Master Plan. The Plan is available for review at http://www.duluthmn.gov/media/239907/Hartley-Master-Plan-07-21-2014.pdf

This work is expected to take place until freezing temperatures set in and will be occurring during daytime hours. The trail will be closed during certain periods of any given day and will be clearly marked as such.

Prairie Restorations, a contractor, will be in the park during the time frame of November 14th to November 30th preparing the  area, thinned of pine trees, for the planting of a pollinator meadow.

These improvements, among others, are funded by a $600,000 Legacy Grant the City of Duluth received in 2015 for the Mini-Master plan implementation. For more project information, please contact Jim Shoberg at (218) 730-4316 or jshoberg@duluthmn.gov
