At approximately 2220 hours last night, the Duluth Fire Department responded to report of a possible structure fire. Upon arrival heavy fire was showing on two levels of a two story residential duplex. All occupants escaped safely, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
The Red Cross was on scene to assist with two displaced families, and the Duluth Fire Marshal is investigating the origin and cause of the fire. There were no injuries, and the fire department was on the scene for approximately two hours. Initial damages are estimated at $50,000 to the structure and another $25,000 to the contents.
