NATURE OF INCIDENT: Person Trapped Under Vehicle
CASE NO.:
INCIDENT DATE: 10/9/2016
INCIDENT TIME: 10:37
INCIDENT LOCATION: Springvale Rd

At 10:37 hours today, the Duluth Fire Department was dispatched to report of a person trapped under a vehicle on Springvale Road in Duluth's Piedmont neighborhood. Upon arrival, crews found a conscious adult female patient trapped underneath a passenger vehicle. The vehicle was secured and crews used extrication tools to lift the vehicle from the patient. The patient was free of the entrapment within 8 minutes of arrival, and appeared to sustain significant lower extremity injuries.

It appears the patient became trapped under the vehicle while trying to prevent it from rolling, and was dragged for approximately 50 feet. The patient was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to a local hospital. Questions about this incident can be directed to Captain Johnson at 723-3218.
