NATURE OF INCIDENT: Structure Fire

INCIDENT LOCATION: 2625 W 5th St

The Duluth Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 2625 W 5th St. at 19:38. Upon arrival crews found a detached garage fully involved. The fire was extending to a neighboring garage. 2 Engine crew pulled a line and knocked down the main body of the fire. Other crews engaged in overhauling the garage. Small pockets of fire proved difficult to extinguish due to the amount of items inside of the structure.

20 firefighters responded to the call and remained on scene for ninety minutes. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Damage to the original garage and the neighboring garage is estimated at $25,500.00

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Duluth Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office. Any further information will be provided by the Fire Marshal's Office.
