 Annual Water Safety Expo and Sand Modeling Contest at Park Point Beach to take place July 28

 

[Duluth, MN] - The Annual Park Point Sand Modeling Contest/Summer Beach Bash and Water Safety Expo was rescheduled from last week and will be held on Thursday, July 28 at the Park Point Beach House from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM which will feature a sand modeling contest, games and several demonstrations on safety topics such as rescue boards, throw rings, life jackets in addition to demonstrations on weather safety, rip currents and kayaking. This event is free and open to the public.  

 

The sand modeling will begin at 11:00AM and judging will start at 1:30PM.  The YMCA will be offering activities and contests in hula-hooping, tug of war, stand up paddle board demos, and more. 

This free public event is organized by the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation, The Duluth Area Family YMCA, and Minnesota Sea Grant.
