Volunteers are needed for Trail Work in Hartley Park

[Duluth, MN] - Volunteers are needed to help the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation give Gazebo Point Trail (Hartley Park) some much needed attention on Thursday, June 23 from 5pm to 9pm. The existing trail is heavily eroded and this project will help restore the access point as part of the parking area improvements happening this fall.

Join in on constructing a hand-built, sustainable, hiking-only trail from the end of Fairmount Street to Gazebo Point in Hartley Park.

Meet up location is at the end of Fairmount Street. Dress for the weather and closed-toe shoes/boots are required. Bring work gloves if you have them, safety glasses, water and a positive attitude. The City will provide all necessary tools and equipment.

Project partners include Northern Minnesota Track Club (NMTC), Superior Hiking Trail Association and Hartley Nature Center.

Learn more about the project by visiting the event on Facebook or by contacting Cheryl Skafte, Volunteer Coordinator, at 218-730-4334 or cskafte@duluthmn.gov
