City Subscriptions

The City of Duluth, Green Corps, ISD 709 Service-Learning Duluth, Minnesota Reading Corps and True North AmeriCorps invite youth and adult volunteers to help clean Skyline Parkway as part of Clean and Green Week's celebration of Global Youth Service Day on Friday, April 23rd. We need 200 volunteers to help clean this 11 miles stretch. Youth and school groups (5th grade and older) and adult volunteers are encouraged to sign up.

 Skyline Parkway is considered the backbone of Duluth, offering breathtaking city overviews while holding some of the city's oldest history. A total cleaning of this 20+ mile roadway has not been done in over ten years, but we are going to take care of that this Spring! Presentations on Skyline's history and environmental importance to the community can be scheduled with event organizers for any group who registers to participate in the event.

 We will begin the project at 10AM on Friday, April 23rd. Skyline will be divided into sections, assigned to volunteers based on group sizes and location of participating schools groups. The City of Duluth will be providing trash bags, latex gloves, and trash pickup.

We'll need to know five things when you register to volunteer:

* How many in your group (We need groups of all sizes, from 1 to 100)

* Time availability on Friday, April 23rd (We'll be working from 10AM - 1:30PM)

* Means of transportation (Transportation assistance may be available)

* Physical ability or any needed accomdations (We'll be finding large trash items such as appliances, and steep drop offs are present in some sections)

* Contact information (We'll need your name, phone, email, address)
