Enger Park Golf Course to Open Tuesday, April 5^th

[DULUTH, MN] – The City of Duluth’s Enger Park Golf Course, managed by Billy Casper Golf, is set to open on Tuesday, April 5.  Ten miles east, Lester Park Golf Course will open to golfers two weeks later on Friday, April 22.

While residents have been taking advantage of mild conditions by hitting golf balls on Enger Park’s driving range and relaxing in the clubhouse, the city’s beloved course will welcome back golfers to enhanced playing surfaces and conditions.  Among the many improvements are:

·         43 completely renovated bunkers

·         New carts with USB power ports

·         A new monthly payment plan option for season passes

·         New Platinum Pass for $1,299, which includes unlimited golf with cart

·         New Unlimited Range Pass for $199 or $149 as an add-on to any season pass

Also in development is the new Skyline Café, which features indoor / outdoor seating, a full bar and grill, updated menu and an entertaining atmosphere.  Great food and drink specials will be available including the “Pay What You Play” offering – pay one penny per stroke for your first draft beer.

Golfers will also notice reduced rates in the popular Skyline Pass (now $39), green fees and senior rates.  Tee times can now be reserved at any time over the phone or online, up to 14 days in advance.  Twilight hours have also been moved up.

About Enger Park Golf Course

Just south of downtown set atop a high bluff, Enger Park treats golfers to immaculate conditions and breathtaking views of the Duluth Harbor. Built in 1927 near the historic Enger Park Tower, the 27-hole course features three, distinct parkland-, links- and traditional-style layouts.  Ranging from 3,168 to 3,359 yards, the par-36, “Front 9,” “Middle 9” and “Back 9” designs present strategic bunkering, several doglegs and scenic ponds while four sets of tees ensure fun but fair tests for all handicappers.

About Lester Park Golf Course

Just north of downtown, Lester Park is well known for its natural beauty and panoramic views of Lake Superior on 20 of its 27 holes.  Opened in 1932, the classic layout is set alongside the Lester River and meanders through open expanses and densely wooded areas.  Ranging from 3,182 to 3,417 yards, the par-36, “Front 9,” “Back 9” and “Lake 9” courses present golfers with narrow fairways, exciting elevation changes and gently undulated greens.

Like Enger Park, Lester Park boasts an all-grass driving range, putting green and chipping green with bunker.  The clubhouse includes lockers, a fully-stocked golf shop with the name-brand equipment and apparel, and a snack bar and grill for quick bites and drinks.
