Brush Drop off Site on Park Point Will Reopen to Park Point Residents

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is reopening the brush drop off site on Park Point for tree parts as a way to provide a contained and convenient location for Park Point residents as they start spring tree trimming or removal since no tree parts are to be moved out of the quarantined area. The City is working with residents to prevent the spread of emerald ash borer (EAB) into other areas of the City. The City plans to staff the drop off site on two Saturdays, April 9 and April 23, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the parking lot near the beach house. A May schedule will be developed based on resident needs.

The City reminds the general public that this brush drop off site is strictly for Park Point residents and is not a trash receptacle. In addition, the public is not allowed to bring in tree parts from other areas of the city into Park Point.

The City’s EAB Draft Management Plan is currently undergoing revisions and will be finalized in the coming weeks. Information about EAB is available on the City's website,  http://www.duluthmn.gov/parks/emerald-ash-borer/
