At 12:59 pm on Wednesday February 17th, 2016 the Duluth Fire Department responded to a report of a possible house fire at 822 Anderson Rd.

Upon arrival the first company found heavy smoke coming from the attic of the single story house. A handline was stretched to the front door and fire attack was initiated. Fire was found in the rear interior of the house. The fire was quickly knocked down and overhaul began. A search of the house ensured there were no residents at home at the time of the fire. While searching the house two dogs were located and removed from the house. The dogs were given O2 on the scene and taken to a local vet.

20 firefighters responded to the call and remained on scene for over two hrs. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.

Damage  is estimated to be $50,000.00.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshal's office. There is no further information at this time.
