Second Public Meeting on Cross City Trail Scheduled for
February 25

(A St. Louis River Corridor Project)

[Duluth, MN] – The second public meeting to discuss the Cross City Trail Mini-Master Plan is scheduled for February 25, 2016 from 5:30-7:30 pm at Denfeld High School, 401 N 44th Ave West. This project is part of the St. Louis River Corridor Initiative with the goal of creating a safe multi use non-motorized connection between the Lakewalk Trail and the Munger Trail.

Results from the online survey and mapping exercises completed at the first public meeting will be shared. Project consultants will present a draft version of the preferred alignment for the Cross City Trail based on feedback and previous analysis. Opportunity for community input on desired trail amenities such as wayfinding and signage, lighting, benches, trash receptacles, and water sources will be provided.

The meeting will consist of:

  •  Sharing results from the online survey and a mapping exercise with  question and answer session.
  • Review of maps illustrating draft preferred route and proposed spur connections, as well as examples of potential amenities and features.

Maps and survey results will be presented at table top and board stations to provide an opportunity for conversation with City of Duluth staff and project consultants.

Comment cards will be available for additional input, and all materials will be posted online following the meeting for further review and comment.
