Duluth to showcase new "Fun Slope" and initial phase of Chester Park improvements

January 22, 2016, 10:30 AM at Chester Bowl Park, 1800 Skyline Parkway

 

[Duluth, MN] - The Duluth Parks Commission, the Chester Bowl Improvement Club and community members will gather to officially unveil the new "fun slope" at the Chester Bowl Ski hill on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 10:30 AM. The fun slope was created as an additional enhancement for downhill skiing and is among several components included in the Chester Park Mini-master Planning process. Since the completion of the mini-master plan in November 2014, City staff and community members have made progress in implementing other aspects of the Plan's phase one elements that will be highlighted during the press event as well as plans for additional park amenities to be announced.

 

Duluth Parks Commissioner Edwin Hall and Dave Schaeffer, Executive Director of the Chester Bowl Improvement Club, will make remarks. A brief media walking tour will be provided following the press conference. Participants should wear appropriate attire to ascend the ski hill.
