City of Duluth Lakewalk Damaged by Strong Winds

The City of Duluth's Lakewalk was damaged this afternoon by the recent rain and strong winds.  The boardwalk located in Canal Park behind the Comfort Suites Hotel was damaged by strong winds and waves which lifted the large safety boulders from the side of the walkway.  The boulders were used to keep materials in place forming a solid foundation for the boardwalk. 

City crews will replace the boulders and repair the damage.

The Lakewalk will remain open but we ask the public to use caution when walking in this area.
