Public Invited to Community Meeting on Chambers Grove Park Improvements

[Duluth, MN] - The public is invited to attend a City of Duluth community meeting to discuss flood repairs and proposed improvements to Chambers Grove Park, located at Hwy 23 & 137th Ave W.  The project objectives are to improve access, amenities and habitat in this critical gateway park among the St. Louis River Corridor parks.

The public meeting will take place on:

January 12, 2016 from 6:00-7:00 pm
Fond du Lac Community Church,  521 131st Ave W

The meeting will provide a brief history of the park, introduce the State Legacy Grant funded components of the park aimed at restoring and improving the park as a result of the impacts of the 2012 flood, and provide an opportunity for public input on issues and opportunities.

Proposed improvements to Chambers Grove Park include providing a trail head for the western terminus of the Duluth Traverse Trail and Mission Creek trail system, a wetland meadow of native plant species, new accessible toilet facilities, improved parking, new playground, and a canoe/kayak put-in. The park is currently closed to the public and will remain so until park improvements have been completed in fall 2016.

Anyone unable to attend this meeting, may email comments to Tari Rayala, City Architect, at trayala@duluthmn.gov
