New Education Programs Offered this Fall for Youth, Adults, and Families
[DULUTH, MN]—Children, adults, and families are invited to participate in new education programs being offered at the Lake Superior Zoo this fall. Programs taking place in October include:
Zoo Tots | Ages 2-3 with a favorite adult
Through story time, activities, and animal encounters, toddlers enjoy learning about a different animal each visit. Zoo Tots is a great way for children to interact with each other as they learn about animals. Explore the zoo on your own after the program. No pre-registration necessary. Free for zoo members, $2 plus regular admission for non-members.

Cub Club | Ages 4-5 (drop off program)
Cub Club is designed for pre-school age children who are able to be successful in group programs without parent involvement. Children participate in games, interactive activities, role play and crafts. Explore the zoo, read stories and meet many animal friends! $13 members, $15 non-members.
Friday, October 9, 2015 10:00 a.m.-12 Noon Theme: Animal Hunters
Homeschool Explorers | Ages 6-10 (drop off program)
Explore science concepts using the outdoors as a classroom and live animals as teachers! All classes include touring the zoo, hands-on activities, and animal encounters. $13 members, $15 non-members.
Thursday, October 22, 2015 1:00-3:00 p.m. Theme: Animal Hunters
Homeschool Adventurers | Ages 11-17 (drop off program)
Learn about zoo keeping and animal conservation by participating in the care of zoo animals. Students will get to know a different species every session, learn about its care, and spend the rest of class helping out the zookeepers. $13 members, $15 non-members.
Thursday,October 29, 2015 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Sunset Safari | Families with children ages 5+
Learn about our nocturnal critters with a hands-on animal program, games, and a unique night-time zoo tour. End the evening by enjoying s’mores around a campfire! $12 per person.
Friday, October 23 7:00-9:30 p.m.
Kids’ Night Out | Ages 4-12 (drop off program)
Need a quiet evening to yourself? Drop your kids off at the zoo for an evening adventure with the animals! Kids will enjoy a pizza party, themed activities, animal encounters, zoo night hike, and more! $18 members, $20 non-members.

Zoo education programs are made possible in part by the Northland Foundation and the Community Opportunity Fund and Cleveland Family Fund of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation.
Also coming up: Boo at the Zoo, the Northland’s premier Halloween event for families, is October 10 and 17.
The zoo is at 7210 Fremont Street, just up the hillside from Grand Avenue at 71st Avenue West.
