Lindsay Dean Selected as the New Parks & Recreation Manager for the City of Duluth

[DULUTH, MN] Lindsay Dean has been selected as the City of Duluth’s new Parks and Recreation Manager. Lindsay comes to the City from Wilderness Inquiry, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit recognized as the global leader in making outdoor recreation accessible to people of all cultures, physical abilities, and income levels. As Business Operations Manager for Wilderness Inquiry, Lindsay oversaw financial and administrative operations for outdoor trips on four continents serving 26,000 participants per year.

Prior to Wilderness Inquiry, Lindsay earned a Masters of Public Administration from the City University of New York and worked at Target Corporation directing the strategy, budget, and operational activities of a $450 million department.

Lindsay and her family moved to Duluth prior to applying for the Parks and Recreation Manager position because they loved Duluth, particularly Duluth’s parks and trails.  They live in a home strategically located next to their favorite Duluth place, Lester Park.

The Parks and Recreation Manager position at the City of Duluth became open upon the retirement announcement of Kathy Bergen after thirty-two years of public service.
