SUBJECT: Parks and Recreation Neighborhood Playground Equipment Grants Now Available

Parks and Recreation Commission announces availability of grant funds for Neighborhood Playground Equipment Revitalization Projects. Application deadline is March 1st

 

 

Neighborhood groups have until March 1st to apply for the new grant funds for the purchase of new playground equipment or the repair of existing equipment at recognized city parks and clubhouse locations. These grants are limited to $15,000 and require an equal cash dollar match.

City Council action this past summer created this new grant program that will be administered by the Parks and Recreation Commission once a year. Playground improvements are beneficial to neighborhoods and the community as a whole and the City would like to aid residents with this grant program to match funds they have raised.

Applications must be received by the Parks and Recreation Commission no later that March 1, 2010.
