At 17:19 pm on Friday March 6, 2015, the Duluth Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 2201 W 12th St. in the Piedmont neighborhood.
The first arriving engine company found smoke coming from a 2nd floor deck on a two story duplex. The fire had extended up the exterior siding to the eave. A handline was deployed up a ground ladder to extinguish the fire. Occupant of the upstairs unit was outside upon our arrival. The homeowner was not at home at time of fire. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
16 firefighters responded from HQ, Spirit Valley, and Lincoln Park Fire Stations.
The Duluth Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating this fire. Damage is estimated to be $12,000.00. No further information is available at this time.
