At 12:26 am on Thursday Feb 5th, 2015, The Duluth Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 2532 Piedmont Ave.
When crews arrived on the scene they found smoke coming from the 2nd floor of the home. Fire crews entered the home and quickly knocked down the fire. The occupants of the home had vacated the house prior to our arrival. 20 firefighters responded from HQ, Lincoln Park, Miller Mall, and Spirit Valley Fire Stations. One occupant went to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation. There were no other injuries to civilians or firefighters.
The Duluth Fire Marshal's Office is currently investigating this fire. Damage is estimated to be $30,000.00. No further information is available at this time.
