At 17:27 the Duluth Fire Department responded to a second structure while crews were on the scene of a fire fatality at tri-towers. Upon arrival crews found a working basement fire at this vacant house. Fire had extended to the first floor and exterior of the second floor. The fire was attacked from the exterior and quickly brought under control. 20 firefighters responded from Downtown, Lakeside, Woodland, Spirit Valley and Gary fire stations. The fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal's Office. The were no injuries and damage is estimated at $50,000.
