Public Input Needed for Chester Park Ski Jump Memorial
 
[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth is inviting the public to provide input and ideas on the vision for the future Chester Park Ski Jump Memorial. The public is invited to a meeting scheduled on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 6:00 PM at the Central Hillside Community Center (12 West 4th Street). The City would like to collect input/ideas from former ski jumpers, park users and the community. 
 
The Memorialization Committee will be sharing the public’s ideas from this meeting with artists who have been selected to develop concepts for the memorial. The City issued a Request for Qualifications for artists in October.   
 
Former ski jumpers and/or their families are invited to bring pictures, news stories, trophies and other ski jumping memorabilia for display at the meeting or to be shared with the artists. The artists will present their final proposals to the Memorialization Committee in early 2015. 
 
Those unable to attend the meeting can submit ideas and comments online no later than 4:30 PM on December 17 at  www.duluthmn.gov/parks/
