[Duluth, MN] - Want to give back during the holiday season?  Come to Family Volunteer Day at the Downtown Public Library to participate in family friendly activities and connect with local organizations to learn how you can volunteer in your community!  Family Volunteer Day is a day of service and giving that demonstrates the power of families who volunteer together supporting their neighborhoods, communities, and the world. 

 

For more than two decades, Family Volunteer Day has been held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to kick-off the holiday season with giving and service.  This year, Duluth will be celebrating Family Volunteer Day on Saturday, November 22^nd from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Green Room at the downtown Duluth Public Library, located at 520 West Superior Street. 

 

Family Volunteer Day will feature family friendly projects and an expo of local organizations that are looking for family volunteers.  Projects include Hands-Only CPR taught by the Duluth Fire Department, screening books for the Big Red Bookshelf, and creating holiday cards and placemats for local senior centers and food shelves.  Featured organizations include Great Lakes Aquarium, Salvation Army, Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, CASDA, and the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation.
