The winners of this year’s Fire Safety Contest have been selected! The winning children will get a ride to school in a fire truck! The contest was to raise awareness for Fire Prevention Week which runs from October 5th to 11th. The four winners were randomly selected from over 300 children who qualified by completing a fire safety checklist with their family. The checklist included verifying their homes had a working smoke alarm and escape plan. The winners from Lester Park and Stowe Elementary School will be picked up at their homes on October 8th. The winners from Lowell and St James Elementary School will be picked up from their homes on October 9th. All the winners will be dropped off at their schools at 8:00 a.m. Congratulations to these lucky winners… and to all of the families that worked to ensure a safer home.
