SUBJECT: New Playfront Park to be built in spring.

Junior League and the City of Duluth Annouce the Rebuiliding of Playfront Park in May 2010
The Junior League of Duluth and the City of Duluth is pleased to annouced Playfront Park on the Bay will be rebuilt in the spring of 2010. In December of 2009, the Junior League made a deposit for Playfront playground equipment with Landscape Structure, Inc. in Delano, MN. The Junior League is looking forward to moving into the construction phase of this project in the spring. The community has shown great support which has translated into the rebuilding of one of the most popular playgrounds in the city.
The tentative timeline for constuction (weather permitting) is as follows:
Build New Playfront Playground: Friday, May 21-Monday, May 24 (the wooden structure will be dismantled sometime in April)
Volunteers are needed the weekend of May 21-24 to help build the new Playfront Park. If you are interested in volunteering for this project please send an email with your name and contact information to: jlduluth.website@gmail.com
Playfront Park Dedication Ceremony and Celebration: Friday, June 4 from 4:00-7:00 PM
Although the Junior League has raised approximately $150,000, an additional $20,000 is needed to build a central shade structure in the center of the park. If you are interested in making a donation online please visit: www.juniorleagueduluth.org or send a check made payable to the Jr. League of Duluth at 2400 East Superior Street, Suite 2, Duluth, MN 55812. You can also make a contribution to this project and leave a lasting impression on the fabric of Playfront Park by buying a personalized brick which would be placed in the pathways of the park. The sale of bricks will continue through April 1, 2010. Bricks are 4"X8" and can be personalized with up to three lines of text. The cost for each brick is $100.
