30th Annual Chester Bowl Fall Fest to Take Place
September 20

[Duluth, MN] –It’s time for the annual Chester Bowl Fall Fest! This year’s 30th anniversary event is scheduled for this Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Chester Bowl Park from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The public is invited to celebrate this significant milestone and enjoy music, food, crafts, locally grown fresh produce, vendors, and informational booths about local programs. The annual event has grown over the years and will host over 100 vendors, a great line up of music, 8 food vendors, face painting, and other kid’s activities. In addition, t-shirts and sweatshirts memorializing the Chester Ski jumps will also be sold by the Chester Bowl Improvement Club.

Suggested donations of $2 will be accepted at the entrance to support Chester winter program scholarships for kids in need who want to participate in winter sports. Donations last year totaled about $7000 and the goal is to surpass this amount.

The music schedule includes:

10 am to Noon          Greg Tiburzi, playing folk rock

12-2:00 pm                Kim & Mike Curtis performing bluegrass, folk
                                   acoustic rock

2-4 pm                        Mark Rubin, playing soft rock

Free Shuttle Service:

The public is highly encouraged to use the three free shuttle buses that will run continuously from the University of Minnesota Duluth parking lot B (new location), located across from the Administration building off College St. and University Drive.

Road and bridge repairs continue immediately west of the Chester Bowl Park entrance thereby limiting access to just the eastern entrance. Pedestrians can enter from the east side, but Skyline Parkway will also be closed to cars from the east starting at Kent Road on the day of the event. Parking is prohibited along Skyline Parkway after Kent Road.

If there is inclement weather, the planned rain date is Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

This annual event is sponsored by the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation division and the Chester Bowl Improvement Club. Donations and t-shirt sales proceeds benefit the Chester Bowl Improvement Club and its programming.
