On 8/24/2014 lightning struck the chimney on the roof of 1434 E Superior Street. On September 7, 2014 there was a fire at 1434 E Superior Street. The origin of that fire was determined to be in an apartment on the 3rd floor of the building and spread to the cockloft. The cause of that fire is accidental in nature.
