Public Meeting to Discuss Proposed Dog Park in Observation Park
[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation division invites the public to meet and discuss the proposal of a new dog park that could be located in a portion of Observation Park (see red lined area on map). The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input.
The meeting will be on Tuesday, June 24 from 6:00-7:30 at the Washington Center in the conference room on the main recreation level. The Center is located at 310 N First Ave W with parking accessible from 3rd Ave West.
Last fall, the Duluth City Council passed a resolution that recommended a portion of Observation Park be considered for an additional City dog park to better meet the needs of dogs and their owners. This resolution was approved based on recommendations from a special task force and public input. The City currently has only one dog park located in west Duluth at Keene Park and is frequently used.
The public is encouraged to attend this meeting to learn more about the proposal, ask questions, and provide input. Those unable to attend this meeting may email comments to Kathy Bergen, Parks Manager, at kbergen@duluthmn.gov
