Park Point Beach Opens This Week
 
[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation division is announcing the opening of the Park Point beach and facilities starting June 11, 2014. The City, in partnership with the Duluth Area YMCA, are providing life guards at Park Point Beach from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, dependent on good weather conditions. For the first time, beach goers who have a need will have access to life jackets in the Park Point Beach House. These items are available at no charge thanks to the generous donation from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.     
 
The public is reminded that Lake Superior conditions are unpredictable and slight changes in weather can cause swimming hazards. Members of the public using the beach should watch for flag warnings and can also check current weather and water conditions by visiting www.parkpointbeach.org As always, the City urges the public to use care and good judgment when swimming in Lake Superior.
