National Trails Day is June 7,
Two Volunteer Events Planned
[Duluth, MN] - Duluth is known for its premier outdoor amenities such as our 180 miles of trails that stretch across the city. On National Trails Day, June 7, 2014, the community has two opportunities to help clean and prepare our trails for public use. All volunteers are welcome. No experience is necessary.
The Duluth Cross Country Ski Club will be doing trail maintenance on the Lester-Amity ski trails from 9-12 pm. Volunteers should meet at Lester Park at the bottom parking lot off Lester River Road and Superior Street. The group will hike to the lighted section just past the overlook and brush about 1.5k of trail. Tools will be provided, but participants can bring your own. Dress appropriately for the weather and for outdoors work. Work boots, water and bug repellent is recommended. For more information email Andre Watt at Trails@duluthxc.com. Treats provided at the end of work.
