INCIDENT LOCATION: 3215 Celia St.

The Duluth Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire at 3215 Celia St. The call was received at 4:04 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2014. Upon arrival crews found heavy fire on the back of the house. The fire had quickly spread from the back porch into the kitchen and into attic space. Witnesses report hearing an explosion and then noticing the fire. One resident was home at the time of the fire and was able to exit the structure with his dog. The first fire unit on scene arrived from the Miller Hill Mall station and reported heavy fire and smoke from the rear of the house. Crews attacked the fire on the exterior of the house and then moved into the kitchen area and attic for extinguishment. The Duluth Fire Marshal's office is conducting an investigation of the fire's origin and cause. There were no injuries but three residence were displaced by the fire. Initial damages are estimated at $100,000.00 to the structure and contents.
