Public Unveiling of Duluth’s First Bicycle Repair Station, May 6
 
Duluth, MN – Thanks to a City of Duluth’s Parks Fund grant and Continental Ski & Bike, bicyclists will have five self-service bike repair stations along popular Duluth bike routes installed over the upcoming months. The unveiling will take place at Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. near the Historic Endion Station on the Lakewalk ( directly below Sister City Park). 
 
The event will include a ribbon cutting with Healthy Duluth Area Coalition and Sustainable Twin Ports and statements from City of Duluth’s Park and Recreation and Continental Ski & Bike. A bike mechanic will be present at the event to demonstrate various do-it-yourself repairs. This event is free and open to the public and the first 20 bicyclists who attend the event will receive a free bicycle light combo set.
 
The bicycle repair stations are meant to improve the overall experience on Duluth trails and bikeway system and offer an additional safety measure for all users. Stations will include a stand, tools, and an air pump, with a QR code to access tutorial videos by Continental Ski & Bike.
 
The Healthy Duluth Area Coalition works to improve people’s lives by changing policies, systems and environments to make it not merely possible, but natural, to be active and access healthy foods.
