INCIDENT LOCATION: 2713 w 4th st

At 04:18 on Wed morning the Duluth Fire Dept was dispatched to a house fire at 2713 W 4th st. 2E was first on scene and gave a size up with a lot of fire coming from the first floor on the eastern side of the structure. Arriving rigs from West Duluth and downtown caught hydrants and started an interior attack. There were a total of four residents living in the complex. All four people were able to leave the building with no injuries. Smoke detectors were sounding. The fire advanced up to the second floor and into the attic space. It took firefighters about 2 hours to get the fire under control. The Red Cross is assisting with the four residents of the building for shelter tonight. There were no firefighter injuries. Intial damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $100,000 dollars. The Duluth Fire Marshalls office is investigating the fire at this time.
