Melting snow causes water to pool in Lakewalk tunnel under Highway 61
Warm temperatures and quickly melting snow have caused water to pool in the Lakewalk tunnel under Highway 61 near Brighton Beach. The City of Duluth would like the public to be aware of the pooling water on the Lakewalk and advises the public to use caution when walking in the tunnel. The water is pooling because the storm pipes are still frozen, once they thaw the water will drain creating a safe walking surface.
