Chester Bowl Community Recreation Center to open for skiing on Saturday, December 19th

Duluth Parks and Recreation’s Chester Bowl Ski Hill will open for the season beginning Saturday, December 19th.

Regular ski lift operations will be as follows: Open Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4:30 to 8:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

During the school holiday vacation, beginning December 28 through December 31, the ski lift will then be open daily from 11:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., except December 24 , 25, and January 1. The ski hill will be closed on those dates.

The daily lift ticket rate for all ages is only $5.00 per day. Individual season lift ticket is $100 ($50 refund with 3 volunteer hours. Final cost $50 + tax) and a family lift ticket is $155 ($75 refund with 6 volunteer hours. Final cost $80 + tax). Besides being very affordable, Chester Bowl is a great place to learn how to downhill ski for people of all ages. Free alpine ski lessons will take place during the holiday break.

Chester Bowl Community Recreation Center is located in the heart of Duluth at 1800 East Skyline Parkway, featuring alpine skiing, cross country skiing, junior ski jumping and speed skating. For more information call Thom Storm at 724-9832.
