NATURE OF INCIDENT: Building Fire
CASE NO.: 13006180
INCIDENT DATE: 7/26/2013
INCIDENT TIME: 11:36
INCIDENT LOCATION: 769 Upham Rd

The Duluth Fire Department responded to report of a structure fire in a multi-unit townhouse.

Upon arrival crews found the end unit of a 4 unit townhouse fully involved on the 1st and 2nd stories.
A second alarm was called due to the volume of fire and size of the structure. Crews were able to stop the fire from progressing to adjacent units.

No occupants were in the fire unit of the building but occupants of adjacent units escaped safely.
Crews spent three hours on the scene containing, extinguishing and overhauling the fire. No firefighter injuries were reported.

Crews from Woodland, UMD, Downtown, Spirit Valley, Miller Mall and Lincoln Park responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation as an arson fire, and no property damage estimates are available at this time, though the one unit sustained heavy fire damage and adjacent units sustained moderate damage.
