Just after 1:00 this afternoon, the Duluth Fire Department responded to a fire in the basement of a single family dwelling in the Norton Park neighborhood.
Upon arrival, crews found a working fire in the home's basement. The occupants of the house were accounted for outside the structure. Crews made entry and quickly extinguished the fire before it could progress through the rest of the house.
There were no injuries reported, and initial damage estimates are set at $20,000 for structure and contents.
The Duluth Fire Marshal is investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
