City of Duluth Clean and Green Schedule

With temperatures reaching into the high 60s this weekend, the City of Duluth is thrilled to announce upcoming Clean and Green events that are open to the community!  Be a part of making Duluth beautiful this spring.  Volunteers are encouraged to show up at any of the events listed below.  No pre-registration is required.  Events are all ages welcome, no experience necessary.  Dress for the weather, wear sunscreen and bring your own water bottle.  Youth under 18 must have parent/guardian permission to participate.

Lincoln Park Green-Up | Saturday, April 27th from 10:00am-12:00noon

Join the Duluth Community Garden Program at its newest site – the Emerald Garden in Lincoln Park on Saturday, April 27th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Meet at the garden located on the corner of W. 4th Street and 20th Ave W (2001 W 4th Street).  Many hands make light work to prepare the garden site for deer fencing and sign installation.  The Let’s Grow Lincoln Park initiative is made possible through a Cities of Service Impact Volunteering Fund grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies, in partnership with the City of Duluth, the Duluth Community Garden Program, the Lincoln Park Fair Food Access Campaign, and Lincoln Park neighbors. For more information, contact Cheryl at 218-730-4334

Hillside Clean-Up | Sunday, April 28th from 12:30pm-3:00pm

The Safe & Walkable Hillside Coalition is organizing a Hillside Neighborhood Cleanup on Sunday, April 28th from 12:30pm-3:00pm.  Meet at Gloria Dei Church (on the corner of 6th Ave. E and 3rd Street) for a light snack and a bit of training.  Then you’ll pick-up some supplies and head-out into the neighborhood to clean. Gloves, garbage bags, vests and drop-off sites will be provided.  The Safe and Walkable Hillside Coalition promotes and supports safety for non-motorized transportation in Duluth’s Hillside neighborhood through the Statewide Health Improvement Program in St. Louis County. For more information, call Annie at 218-310-8993.

Rose Garden Green-Up | Tuesday, April 30th from 3:00pm-6:00pm
