Just after 0100 this morning, the Duluth Fire Department responded to report of a bedroom fire at 2631 W. 4th Street. Upon arrival, crews found an upstairs bedroom heavily involved in fire. The lone occupant of the structure, an adult male, escaped the fire without harm after attempting to extinguish with a fire extinguisher.

Crews made an aggressive interior attack and were able to extinguish the fire and contain the damage to a single room. No injuries were reported, and damages are estimated between $15 and $20,000. The property is insured.

The Fire Marshal's office is investigating as to origin and cause of the fire. Crews from Lincoln Park, West Duluth and Downtown responded.
