CASE NO.: 12-009378
INCIDENT DATE: 11/23/2012
INCIDENT TIME: 06:04
INCIDENT LOCATION: 3707 E. 4th St

At 06:04 this morning, the Duluth Fire Department was dispatched to report of a structure fire at 3707 E. 4th Street. Initial arriving company from Lakeside reported a fire in the basement of a residential structure.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but a contributing factor may have been a tree that had fallen on the power line to the home, causing the service mast to pull away from the house and severing the neutral line.

Crews entered the structure and stopped the spread of the fire quickly. All occupants of the home were evacuated and Red Cross has been notified to assist as the home is not habitable.

Initial damage estinates, to include smoke damage throughout, are set at $25,000.

No injuries were reported. The Fire Marshal's Office continues to investigate the cause.
