The Duluth Fire Department would like to advise the public that their annual fire hydrant testing program will begin on Monday, September 21st, 2009, and continue through Thursday, October 29th, 2009.
The testing program includes a visual inspection and light maintenance, static pressure testing, and pumping the hydrants dry in preparation for winter.
Fire companies across the City will be testing hydrants in their districts as part of this annual program, designed to help ensure that fire hydrants are operational when needed in the event of an emergency.
