At 0216 this morning, the Duluth Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire at 4609 W. 5th Street. Upon arrival, fire companies from the West Duluth station found a two car detached garage heavily involved in fire. The garage contained two vehicles and other miscellaneous items.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and overhauled the building in about an hour. There were no injries reported. Initial damage estimates to the structure and contents are set at $55,000.
The Duluth Fire Marshal's office is investigating as to origin and cause of the fire.
