SUBJECT: Yellow Flag Warning Issued for Park Point Beaches
BY: Amy Norris, Public Information Coordinator

The Duluth Fire Department is issuing a Condition Yellow Flag along the Park Point Beaches effective immediately and continuing until further notice.

A Yellow Flag means a Moderate Risk of rip currents. Wind and/or wave conditions support stronger or more frequent rip currents. Only experienced surf swimmers should enter the water.  Be aware that conditions may deteriorate throughout the day.  Stay posted on up to date beach conditions.

Should conditions deteriorate or improve, you will be notified at that time.

Lifeguards may not be present at Park Point beach.  Only strong or surf swimmers should enter the water.  All others are advised to stay out of the water.

Be aware of flags at 12th St beach, Lafayette Square, and Park Point beach.

More information on conditions and rip currents can be found by visiting the National Weather Service Duluth website:  http://www.crh.noaa.gov/dlh/
