The public is invited to attend the Trails and Bikeways Master Plan Stakeholders meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 15th beginning at 7:00 PM. The purpose of the meeting is to communicate and gather input from various trails users regarding such items as trail needs, management, and route locations. The meeting will be held at the Central Hillside Community Center-Parks and Recreation office located at 12 East 4th Street (corner of Lake Avenue and 4th Street).
The City of Duluth is contracting the services of a consulting group to develop a Trails and Bikeways Master Plan that will help Duluth achieve its goal of becoming the top trail destination center in the Midwest. The Trail and Bikeway Plan approach will be to incorporate existing trail plans laid out in the Duluth Comprehensive Plan and the Metropolitan Interstate Council with public input gathered at open houses during the Parks Master Plan process. The plan will focus on non-motorized trail use, working to ensure coordination of snowmobile trail use.
