1st Avenue E Reconstruction- E Superior St to E 3rd St

The City of Duluth is reconstructing 1st Avenue East between East Superior Street and East 3rd Street. This reconstruction project will replace the existing road surface and sidewalks for the full road width as well as the steam, hot water, and water utilities beneath the road. Traffic signals at the intersection of East 2nd Street and 1st Avenue East will be replaced. The existing street lights will be replaced during the project as well. Construction of the project will be done by Northland Constructors of Duluth and overseen by LHB Corp. for the City of Duluth. Current road closures and detours for this project and for others throughout the City can be found on the City’s closure map. This project will be financed by the City of Duluth through Street Improvement Sales Tax and Utility funds.
