Duluth Officials and Community to Celebrate Addition of New Restrooms For Beach Users

 

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth, officials from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Minnesota Lake Superior Coastal Program and community members will celebrate the long awaited addition of new public restrooms at the Lafayette Community Center (3026 Minnesota Ave) on Thursday, May 24 at 10:30 AM. This event is open to the public.

 

The facilities located adjacent to the Lafayette Community Center were recently constructed and are accessible for members of the public visiting the beach. These new restrooms will be open to accommodate the public during hours when the Community Center is closed. The new bathrooms were funded with a $100,000 grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Minnesota Lake Superior Coastal Program. The paved trail leading up to the Community Center from the parking lot was also improved creating a smoother safer surface for the public.
