Utility work planned along Superior Street in downtown starting March 7

 

[Duluth, MN] - Starting March 7 the City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities staff will be cleaning and lining the sanitary sewers with a cured in place pipe between 7th Avenue West and 4th Avenue West along Superior Street in downtown Duluth. The project is expected to last until March 25th. Access to clean, televise and install the liner is done through each individual manhole in the project area. Work is planned to be done during off peak daytime hours (9:00 am to 3:00 pm) so as not disrupt traffic.  The public is requested to proceed slowly and cautiously when driving near the manholes in the project area which will also have a utility truck parked nearby.    


Superior Street and the avenues will remain open to traffic except for 5th Avenue West between Superior Street and 1st Street. This closure will occur when crews are setting up equipment at that manhole.
