Project Status: Design
Project Overview: The Western Waterfront Trail has been restored to its original width, greatly improving accessibility while restoring adjacent habitats. The wayfinding and signage plan calls for significant improvement of signage at both trailheads and along the trails proper. The Western Waterfront Trail will be the first major trail in the Corridor to receive a full signage upgrade.
Project Update: Staff are working through final design of signage package and anticipate going to bid late spring/early summer 2019.
Timeline: Majority of signage is to be installed in 2019, with remaining signage and rest stops to be completed after the DNR restoration of Kingsbury Bay in 2020.
Project Partner: This project is funded in part by an $89,000 grant from the Minnesota Lake Superior Coastal Program.
