Mayor Emily Larson's 2017 State of the City Address

Mayor Emily Larson delivered her second State of the City Address on March 20 at Lincoln Park Middle School. Mayor Larson reviewed her first year in office which focused on building a strong City leadership team, passing a sound responsible budget, engaging the community in new ways and witnessing the great work of City employees behind the scenes. Looking ahead, she laid out a detailed strategy to address opioid addiction, address our housing shortage and announcing a city energy plan that will reduce the City of Duluth's greenhouse gas emissions 80% by 2050.

Additional topics and issues were covered as well. Mayor Larson closed her remarks with an eye toward the future and asked residents to work together with the City to “mend this part of the world that is within our reach.”
