ISSUED TO: Anyone who wishes to burn in the City of Duluth.
PROCEDURE: Applications with fee are filed with the Fire Marshal who conducts an inspection of the burn site before burning is approved. Applicants may only burn small amounts of brush (no land clearing), and the burn site must be at least 300 feet away from the nearest structure. Permits may be rescinded if a burning ban is declared, if the permit's restrictions are violated, and/or if smoke from the fire presents a problem. The Fire Chief or Fire Marshal retains the right to regulate burning activity consistent with the rules and regulations of the State Fire Marshal and/or the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
