APPLICATION FORM: Building Permit Application.
FEE: Building permit fees are based on the total value of all construction work for which the permit is issued. Fees are assessed on this value according to a valuation fee schedule.

ISSUED TO: Those erecting, repairing and/or altering any building within the city.
PROCEDURE: The building permit application, with fees, and plans if required, are submitted to the building official. Also required are information and permits for electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning improvements and/or alterations. A plot plan detailing the property and proposed construction to which the permit applies must also be submitted. If the proposed location of the structure lies within a water management district, use or special use permit may also be required.
NOTE: Permits to install electrical, plumbing, etc., improvements are issued to those actually doing the work on the premises. Thus, if such work is contracted out, such contractor should secure the necessary permits from the city.
